Building Skills & Independence in Early Preschool
At Ballancrest Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, Early Preschool is an exciting stage of growth and discovery. This time is filled with important milestones—developing gross motor skills, learning to share, engaging in group play, and beginning potty training. In our Early Preschool classroom, we nurture your child’s natural curiosity and independence, preparing them for the more advanced, science-based curriculum in our Preschool program.
Engaging Curriculum
Early Preschoolers are eager to explore and assert their independence. As they become more socially aware, they start to recognize the world beyond themselves. Our Early Preschool Teacher designs weekly thematic lessons using the ScienceStart! curriculum and the NC Foundation for Early Learning and Development framework. Lessons focus on key developmental areas, including:
Communication Skills
Group Play & Social Interaction
Language Development
Potty Training Readiness
Sharing & Cooperation
Interactive Learning Centers
Our Early Preschool classroom is designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and skill development while preparing children for the next stage of learning. Through hands-on activities in our learning centers, children strengthen both fine and gross motor skills while engaging in:
Art & Creativity
Mathematics & Early Problem-Solving
Music & Movement
Pre-Writing & Literacy
Science Exploration & Discovery
Ongoing Assessment & Parent Communication
We believe in keeping parents involved in their child’s progress. Our Lead Early Preschool Teacher conducts both informal and formal assessments to track developmental milestones. Progress updates and insights are shared during our quarterly parent-teacher conferences, ensuring a strong partnership in your child’s early education journey.
